Chemistry and interested educators are invited to attend the next Chemistry Section meeting which will focus on “Favorite Demonstrations.” The meeting will be held on Saturday Feb. 7th from 10 am to noon at Kapiolani Community College, Kokio 107, which is a chemistry lab with access to hot plates. Take this opportunity to have fun and show your colleagues your favorite chemistry demonstration. Enjoy refreshments and fellowship. Win door prizes. Don’t forget your goggles and some copies of your demonstration(s). Come early if you want to do some shopping at the Farmer’s Market (7:30 am-noon) which is held on KCC campus on Saturdays.

2009 Richard C. Bartlett Environmental Education Award
The Richard C. Bartlett Environmental Education Award is awarded annually by the National Environmental Education Foundation to an outstanding educator who has successfully integrated environmental education into his or her daily education programs. The award is given to a 5th-12th grade educator who can serve as an inspiration and model for others. A $5,000 cash award is provided for the recipient to continue his or her work in environmental education. Do you know a teacher who stands out among the rest? If so, please nominate him or her for the 2009 Richard C. Bartlett Award. Nominations are due by January 31, 2009.
